Within the traffic, culture, and folk high school administration, we are about 220 employees working at our three folk high schools; Bollnäs, Forsa, and Västerberg, within X-trafik and within the culture department of Gävleborg.

The folk high schools conduct education, folk education, and some conference activities. Forsa folk high school is a modern school that rests on a hundred-year tradition of knowledge, education, and culture. JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for a photographer who has extensive knowledge of analog photography and darkroom work, as well as a heart that beats for folk education.

From the autumn of 2025, Forsa folk high school will offer a photography education that goes against the tide. In an age of AI and digital filters, we are now seeking an analog photographer for our photography program. A backward-looking person with an eye on the future. Someone who copies instead of edits. Someone who has agitation in their wrists and knows that brushes are not something you download. You who have worked with noble processes and selenium toning and are happy to share your knowledge.

As a photography teacher with us, you will work with:

• developing the course together with colleagues in the photography team
• course responsibility
• theoretical and practical teaching

• maintaining external contacts and participating in networks related to the photography education.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is responsible, self-driven, and proactive. You want to meet participants both individually and in groups based on where they are and take advantage of their ability to develop. An important prerequisite for giving participants keys to learning is their safety and the opportunity to develop and grow as individuals. Therefore, it is important that you have a good ability to build good relationships with both participants and colleagues.

In the role of photography teacher, you should have:

• solid experience in analog photography
• pedagogical experience that the employer sees as relevant for the position
• proficiency in wet plate photography, photogravure, or gum printing
• good knowledge of the Swedish language.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have pedagogical training or equivalent that the employer sees as relevant for the position, experience in folk education, knowledge of framing and exhibition work, bookbinding, screen printing, computer skills, and knowledge of graphic programs such as Adobe Photoshop.
