The Technology Department at Business Unit Vattenfall Power Solutions develops and implements projects and assignments, as well as providing internal technical specialist services in a consolidated competence center for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities in the form of feasibility studies, analyses, investigations, and design primarily within nuclear power, nuclear fuel management, and hydropower, but also within thermal power and wind power. The focus within the business unit is to develop our competence in strategic areas to support Vattenfall's transition to a fossil-free future.

Within the competence area of Electrical Power and Automation, we currently have about 20 employees, and with us, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging assignments within the Vattenfall Group. Your responsibilities

As an engineer with us, you may work on assignments for our clients as well as in projects of our own. With your technical expertise, you will contribute to solutions for complex problems from a holistic perspective.

Your responsibilities in electrical power technology may vary and depend on your background, but may include taking a participatory or leading role in work involving:

  • calculations, analyses, and investigations
  • new, renovation, and expansion projects
  • identifying and assessing requirements from facilities and stakeholders
  • developing and evaluating conceptual solutions
  • preparing documentation for decisions and procurement
  • system and facility design
  • preparing documentation for construction in both hardware and software

We are looking for someone who has

  • a degree as a bachelor's engineer, master's engineer, or similar in a relevant field, or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
  • at least 5 years of experience in electrical power issues within the process or power industry
  • good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing, both in Swedish and English
  • driver's license B

It is advantageous if you have experience in

  • power system analysis using PSS/E and knowledge of Python

In situations characterized by difficulties or uncertainties, you can carry out structured and qualitative work using your analytical skills and attention to detail. You have good collaboration skills, and with your attentiveness, you easily create and maintain relationships, as well as manage many contacts.

Location Solna, Gothenburg, Uppsala, Västerås, Gävle, Nyköping, or Oskarshamn. Travel is a natural part of the job, but we actively work with technical solutions to reduce the amount of travel.

Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of about 450 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments, and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, corporate staff, and stakeholders. This involves activities such as project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety, and dam safety assignments. The focus within the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected key technical disciplines. We actively work with continuous improvement initiatives and the development of our models, where our work and expertise create significant value for Vattenfall and its investments.
