About us

Primary care dietitians and specialist care dietitians in Sörmland are organized in a dietitian organization that belongs to the regional clinic Paramedicine Sörmland. There are approximately 50 dietitians working at the three hospitals in Sörmland; Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna, Nyköpings lasarett, and Kullbergska sjukhuset in Katrineholm, as well as at the region's 31 health centers. The primary care unit and the specialist care unit each have their own dietitian managers who work closely together, making us a strong dietitian organization.

We operate under the principle that "quality comes before quantity". This means we work to ensure that patients receive the best possible care and nutritional treatment rather than focusing on producing many patient contacts.

We are looking for a total of four assistants for the summer of 2025, placed at Nyköpings lasarett or Mälarsjukhuset in Eskilstuna. In this role, you will work with both the specialist care and primary care units.

Your tasks

As an assistant dietitian, you will work with licensed dietitians who will guide, delegate, and distribute the work. Certain tasks performed by licensed dietitians can be delegated to you. You will document in journals. We work according to the Nutrition Care Process (NCP). The dietitian unit in Sörmland has medical and administrative routines that are common across the region.

The main task of the assistants during the summer is to receive calls from staff and patients. Other common tasks include calculating meal-fluid lists, conducting nutritional screenings, calculating food diaries, calculating energy needs, and ordering and handing out sample bags with nutritional drinks. The assistants also handle administrative tasks such as revising materials. It may also be relevant to conduct group treatments for example patients with diabetes or high cholesterol. You may also have some follow-up calls with patients previously seen by a dietitian.

Your qualifications

• You who will have completed and passed semester 4 or 5 of the dietitian program by summer.
• You can work independently and are engaged and proactive.
• Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and flexibility.
• Our work is based on evidence-based guidelines and ethical codes.

Employment form

Summer temporary position, limited during the period weeks 24-35 in 2025. We prefer that you can work at least eight of these 11 weeks but with the possibility of a few days off during the period if needed. Start date by agreement.
