ABOUT THE POSITION

Schneider Electric leads the digital transformation of energy management and automation, and they are ready to welcome new colleagues as commissioning engineers to a data center in Gävle. Schneider Electric and one of their largest customers have initiated a significant collaboration aimed at optimizing and streamlining the operations of data centers. By combining their expertise in energy and digital management, they have been able to develop innovative solutions that improve both energy efficiency and sustainability in data center operations.

As a commissioning engineer, you will work on deploying Schneider's application solutions by testing and being responsible for electrical monitoring of switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and more. You will configure the equipment to communicate correctly with other systems and protocols. Nothing should be left to chance, which means that all steps in the phase must be tested, quality assured, and monitored for the best possible operation, and that all values are followed in the database.

To get into the role in the best way, you will receive an introduction and attend internal training via Schneider. You will belong to a smaller team with an open atmosphere and good cohesion. When you are out on site, you will be in good company with both internal and external colleagues. The start date for the position is August 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Duties

As a commissioning engineer (or Commissioning Engineer in Schneider's terms), you are responsible for ensuring that the electrical monitoring in a system or switchgear functions as it should before it is put into operation. You will primarily work with:

  • Configuration and commissioning of the entire application solution
  • Overall electrical monitoring to ensure that specifications and standards are followed
  • Conducting various tests to identify any issues and ensure that all systems operate efficiently and safely
  • Collecting and compiling all necessary documentation, including test results and commissioning reports
  • Working together with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure smooth operations and a customer-oriented collaboration

WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO

  • Has basic electrical knowledge from education or previous work experience
  • Has a strong and genuine interest in both technology and data, and has a great curiosity for the industry in which Schneider operates
  • Speaks and writes fluently in both English and Swedish as you will use both languages in the position. You will primarily speak English with your colleagues in the data center
  • Has a B driver's license

We consider it a strong merit for the position if you have:

  • Previous experience working with servers/switches
  • Knowledge or experience of SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)
  • Worked with Modbus, BACnet, or other communication protocols
