The Role of Nurse in Ambulance Care

As a nurse in ambulance care, you work closely with an ambulance care provider or another nurse, either with basic or specialist training.

Together, you perform patient examinations based on medical guidelines and make a preliminary diagnosis. You have access to advanced equipment such as defibrillators, mechanical chest compression devices, and a wide range of medications, allowing you to act quickly and effectively in critical situations. In your daily work, you meet patients at all stages of life, where your focus is always to deliver safe and secure care based on their needs.

The positions include a permanent position based at the ambulance station in Vetlanda and two positions in our staff pool.

Ambulance care has undergone significant development in recent years and now offers increasingly advanced care even before the patient reaches the hospital. Our work is based on three fundamental values: professional, safe, and accessible, which permeate everything we do.

In Region Jönköping County, there are 24 ambulances including a light care ambulance distributed across twelve stations in the county. Ambulance care consists of three ambulance areas, of which area east is one and has stations in Eksjö, Nässjö, Vetlanda, Sävsjö, Tranås, and Aneby. Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with at least one year of experience in somatic healthcare. If you also have any of the following specialist training, it is an advantage:

• Ambulance care
• Anesthesia care
• Intensive care
• Emergency care

You are an experienced driver and have at least a B driver's license. It is important that you have good fitness and physical work capacity, both for your own and the patient's sake. Working in ambulance care also requires personal maturity and good judgment. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who is secure and stable in themselves and has a clear ability to balance the personal and the professional. You are confident in making your own decisions and take responsibility in your work. Since you will be working closely with others in the team, it is important that you find it easy to collaborate and communicate clearly and effectively. Your empathetic approach and ability to meet people with respect and care are crucial for you to thrive and succeed in the role.

Our Recruitment Process

Your application should include a CV, nursing license, proof of specialist training, and other certificates that support your CV. You upload these in our recruitment system when you apply.

Before any employment, you will undergo a physical test, lifting test, driving test, and swimming test in addition to the interview. Selection and interviews may take place on an ongoing basis. The last application date is January 26.
