Your New Job

The nursing assistant is the executor of care and support, providing this with a rehabilitation mindset, which means that the resident should be activated as much as possible in the care to enhance or maintain their functional ability. The nursing assistant administers medication on delegation from a nurse, carries out certain rehabilitation interventions on delegation from an occupational therapist/physiotherapist, and reports ongoing activities verbally and in writing to the unit manager/nurse and colleagues.

Your tasks involve independent work at night and include personal care, daily chores such as cleaning and laundry, medication management, and various responsibilities. A certain degree of social activities may occur during possible day shifts. The work includes social documentation. The values of elderly care and a health-promoting perspective are the foundation for how the work is organized and carried out. The job aims to strengthen the individual's abilities and resources so that they experience their daily life as understandable, manageable, and meaningful.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant, preferably with experience in elderly care. Experience with night shifts is an advantage.

To succeed in the role of nursing assistant with us, we believe that you are flexible, service-oriented, and good at independently planning and executing your work. You are stable and have the ability to handle a dynamic everyday life while maintaining calm even in unforeseen or emergency situations. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills, good communication skills, and prioritize the individual's and the organization's best interests in your actions and decision-making. The work requires physical mobility as situations arise that cannot be predicted and must be resolved in a manner suited to the situation.

You should have excellent skills in speaking and writing in Swedish and have a high reading comprehension of written texts. You should be able to actively participate in training/information sessions at workplace meetings and be able to absorb information. Additionally, you have experience in keeping journal notes and possess very good computer skills.

Welcome to Us

Kålgården Elderly Home is an elderly home with home care services. The residence is centrally located in Jönköping, close to both Munksjöbron and Östra Kajen. While you are close to the city center and bus connections, you can also enjoy nature with beautiful walking paths around Munksjön and Rocksjön. The elderly home is divided into 3 units and consists of 49 apartments, four of which are two-room apartments. There is close cooperation with various professional groups, and Kålgården is a workplace with 37 dedicated employees, good community, and the opportunity to influence your work. Good to Know

The position is a permanent position, evening and night shifts, with start date according to agreement. Note! Although the position is primarily an evening and night shift, work during the day may also occur. We work with joint planning, which means that work with several citizens may be relevant. Jönköping municipality strives for full-time as the norm and always offers a 100% employment rate. An offer of employment in another unit may be relevant.

Before employment begins and an employment contract is signed, you who are offered the position will first meet with the Municipal Health Service to undergo a health check. This health check is a requirement in the recruitment for all our night positions.

In your application, we want you to attach your diploma. From July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant will become a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare will be required to use the title of nursing assistant within care and support.
