Senior Vehicle Technician at Gamla Uppsala Buss

We are facing a generational shift and are now looking for a senior vehicle technician for our state-of-the-art depot with a workshop in Fyrislund. At Gamla Uppsala Buss, you will be part of a community where we care about each other. We want you to feel good and secure with us.

Being a vehicle technician with us means taking responsibility and working independently, where initiative, personal responsibility for quality and performance are of utmost importance. You will work with troubleshooting and repair work on our buses.

Our vehicle fleet consists of electric buses, hybrid buses, as well as biogas and diesel buses. This means you will work with and be trained in the latest technology in the automotive industry.

Our operations run almost around the clock, and some inconvenient working hours may be required by agreement.

We offer a permanent position with a 6-month probationary period on a full-time basis in a free work environment with personal responsibility alongside knowledgeable and engaged colleagues. Who are we looking for?

You do not need to have experience working with heavy vehicles previously; we also highly value experience as a passenger car mechanic or service technician.

However, you should have:

• A vehicle technology education from high school or documented equivalent education/experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Good computer skills.
• Category B driving license.
• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.
• Previous work with heavy vehicles and AC certification category V is an advantage.

Gamla Uppsala Buss (GUB) is one of Sweden's largest publicly owned bus companies and is currently owned by Region Uppsala. The company is environmentally certified according to ISO14001:2019. Our main activity is to perform city bus traffic in Uppsala on behalf of Region Uppsala. Other parts of the business include patient transport with special vehicles, stop service, and rental of mobile preschool buses. The company currently has about 580 employees. The technical department manages over 200 vehicles. Maintenance is carried out in our own workshop, body and paint shop, and service hall. We currently have 25 people working in the workshop.
