Job Advertisement: Nurse for Department 14 Cardiology
Department 14 Cardiology at the Hospital in Motala is part of the medical specialist clinic, primary care in western Östergötland.
We are about 25 employees who, together with the clinic, provide internal medicine around the clock to the population in the western part of the county. Our common focus is to offer emergency care with good patient safety and a positive approach.
Cardiology is a small unit with colleagues of all ages who work closely together with the patient at the center. A nurse from cardiology shares: “There is something special about working with the heart. Every day I get to meet an incredibly grateful patient group who are often very motivated to get better. Being a smaller unit also contributes to an open work climate with a good community that provides security when the pace can vary.”
Welcome to a unit with a strong sense of community! Here, good communication and collaboration are a given – together we are here for the heart patients!
Our Offer
For life ahead. Region Östergötland has high ambitions and a responsible mission. It’s about health and care, about the development of our region, and about those who live and reside here. We want to continue to be at the forefront, with care, research, and education. This means daring to think anew – and having the best employees. Therefore, we offer unique opportunities for further learning and invest in modern environments with effective systems and tools. Many of us meet patients and relatives, while others create the conditions for life-saving interventions. With us, fantastic people work towards the same goal – to make a real difference, and for life ahead.
Here you can read about our career ladder for nurses (#) and about your benefits with us.
Job Description
With us, you will meet patients from all internal medicine areas of inpatient care, but especially you will meet patients who have acutely fallen ill or worsened in their heart disease. We work in teams together with the patient, where our goal is to meet the patient's needs in the acute phase and plan for the continued care needs. With us, the care flow is fast, and patients have a shorter length of stay. This means that patients are admitted and discharged every day. As a nurse, the work is varied and includes a lot of medical technology since patients often require monitoring. Your responsibilities include everything from nursing and medication administration to reviewing heart monitoring. In the department, we perform electrical conversions for both outpatient and inpatient patients. We are also responsible for the hospital's cardiac arrest alarms.
Since we believe that a safe work environment and competence are the foundation for safe care, we place great emphasis on both introduction and further education.
Work Group
As a new employee, you will receive an introduction tailored to your background and experience. All new employees will, of course, receive an introduction checklist, a mentor, and follow-up conversations with the immediate supervisor. We offer all employees further education in cardiac care, both shorter introductory courses and specialist training in cardiology. We care about ensuring that your working hours are balanced with the rest of your life. Therefore, we offer the 90/10 working time model, which means you work 90 percent with a full-time salary.
About You
Both newly graduated nurses and experienced ones are welcome to apply with us. Since you work in constant dialogue with patients and colleagues, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
You need to be a team player as we work together in teams. In stressful situations, you should be able to maintain a calm and stable exterior, both for the patient's best interest and to ensure smooth collaboration. You should enjoy the acute flow where no day is the same. We want you, like us, to have a good approach, a positive attitude, and focus on the patient's best interest. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and maturity.
Application and Employment
There is an opportunity for a permanent weekend working time model, resulting in a weekly working time of 24 hours. We work with ongoing selection, so please submit your application as soon as possible. Before employment in a patient-related role within Region Östergötland, you will need to fill out a form (https://ledsys.lio.se/Document/Document?DocumentNumber=54500).
Warm welcome to submit your application! If you need help registering in the system, please contact customer service Support and Service, 010-103 60 00, during office hours.
To staffing, placement, and recruitment companies and to you as a seller: We kindly but firmly decline direct contact with staffing, placement, and recruitment companies as well as other external actors and sellers of additional job advertisements. Region Östergötland has contracted agreements.
