At NGS Vikariepoolen, we are seeking chefs for work in preschools and schools in the Stockholm area during the autumn term of 2024. As an employee with us, you will be offered assignments that match your preferences and competencies when you are available to work. As a substitute chef, you play an important role in ensuring that the operation runs smoothly when a regular staff member is absent. The tasks are the usual ones for school and preschool kitchens, including preparing lunch, and in preschools, breakfast and snacks are also served. You are also responsible for handling food safely, conducting self-checks, washing dishes, and keeping the kitchen and equipment clean according to applicable guidelines. In larger kitchens, you will be part of a team, while it is common to work alone in preschools.

Your knowledge, curiosity, and commitment make a difference. To succeed in the role, it is important that you are good at collaborating and organizing your own work. It is also important to be able to see what needs to be done and take initiative. We are looking for someone who has completed a restaurant and food program or equivalent chef training and has experience working as a chef in large kitchens. It is important that you have good knowledge of safe food handling according to HACCP and are accustomed to conducting self-checks. You also have very good knowledge of allergens and experience working with the most common ones. Additionally, you have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

To work in schools and preschools, a valid extract from the criminal record register for work within schools or preschools is required. The extract must have been printed less than a year ago. More information can be found at www.polisen.se (http://www.polisen.se/).
