Your Mission

Nacka Senior Center (NSC) is a meeting place for seniors and the municipal alternative for elderly care that offers social activities, care, and support in the form of day activities and special housing. In Nacka municipality, there are a total of four Senior Centers located in Ektorp, Finntorp, Saltsjöbaden, and Saltsjö-Boo. Please read more about our operations here.

We are currently looking for a chef for a temporary position starting immediately until September 15, with a chance for extension.

As a chef at Nacka Senior Center, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious traditional dishes tailored to the needs and wishes of our customers. With us, you will become part of a wonderful team of experienced chefs and assistants who work together to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Together with your colleagues, you will prepare all meals from scratch in our kitchen and ensure that the kitchen remains clean, while also assisting with dishwashing and portioning as needed. We organize theme weeks and celebrate holidays with special menus to create a pleasant and inspiring dining experience for our customers.

You will have overall responsibility for the production and quality of the meals, which includes inventory management and self-control according to HACCP standards. Handling special diets, both for allergies and dietary adjustments, is a central part of the role to offer each customer an individualized meal.

Working hours vary between 8 AM and 6 PM, starting no earlier than 8:00 AM and ending no later than 6:00 PM. The position includes weekend work three times a month.

Your Experience

For this position, you must have:

• Culinary education
• At least 3 years of experience as a chef
• Experience preparing traditional dishes from scratch
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Basic computer skills

It is advantageous if you also have:

• Driver's license
• Education and/or experience in special diets, HACCP, and self-control
• Experience with purchasing responsibility
• Experience in leadership
• Experience from similar operations, such as nursing homes or large kitchens

Nacka Senior Center consists of four nursing homes that together constitute the municipal alternative for elderly care within Nacka municipality.
