The orthopedic and hand surgery department in Region Örebro County is in an exciting phase of development and is now seeking a specialist physician/senior physician for two of our five sections.

Specialist Physician/Senior Physician, Orthopedic and Hand Surgery Department

Acute and Trauma Section

Within the acute and trauma section, we handle and operate on fractures in all parts of the musculoskeletal system, including pelvic and joint-involving fractures in the upper and lower extremities. In recent years, multi-trauma cases have increased significantly, and close collaboration across disciplines has been established. The section also conducts subacute and elective activities in the form of orthopedic infection surgery, reconstructive surgery (malunion/non-union/metastasis), and deformity surgery, such as pelvic osteotomies in adults.

Foot Section

Within the foot section, there is a strong interest and good conditions for advanced foot surgery. We currently perform a wide range of foot surgeries, from basic forefoot surgery to advanced surgery for Charcot feet, arthrodesis, prosthetics, other midfoot and hindfoot surgeries, as well as arthroscopies. We have access to a newly built motion laboratory, and there are good opportunities for research. Currently, there is one resident physician, one specialist physician, and two senior physicians working in the section.

The other sections within the department are the spine section, prosthetics section, hand surgery section, and upper extremity section.

Licensed physician with specialist training in orthopedics. You are interested in development and improvement work, research, and have the ability to work independently with personal responsibility. We place great value on good collaboration skills, creativity, and holistic thinking. Personal suitability will be given significant weight. If desired, part-time employment can be discussed.

The conditions for clinical research are good. Those who have defended their thesis in recent years can, if desired, expect a postdoc position at half-time for 4-5 years with the goal of becoming an associate professor. For those who have research training or are associate professors, there is ample opportunity for further research qualification in the form of, for example, supervision.
