Within the orthopedic department at Danderyd Hospital, patients with various orthopedic diseases and injuries are treated.

The clinic conducts both emergency and planned surgeries for patients aged 15 and older. Here, we care for patients with everything from basic to complex fractures. Our patients are often multi-sick with high care needs, which gives our nurses a broad and extensive competence. The orthopedic clinic's specialties include trauma surgery, shoulder and elbow surgeries, and complications following hip and knee prosthetic surgeries.

As a nurse, you will work in a team alongside doctors, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. The clinic also has care coordinators, bed coordinators, dietitians, and social workers available. You will be responsible for planning and leading the work around patients with preoperative preparations, postoperative care, pain relief, advanced wound care, mobilization, and care planning together with your team.

Additionally, a major change initiative is currently underway at the orthopedic clinic, including a move to a newly built hospital building in the spring of 2025. Would you like to join us on this journey?

Qualifications

• Licensed nurse.
• Experience in emergency care is an advantage.
• Further education in emergency care or surgery is an advantage.

About the Organization

In the orthopedic department, we have extensive experience in basic to complex fracture and joint prosthesis surgery, and we are at the forefront of treating other injuries and diseases in both bone and soft tissue. The orthopedic clinic has four orthopedic inpatient wards, as well as an operating department, outpatient clinic, paramedicine, and dietitians. In our wards, we care for both acute and elective patients with various injuries to the skeleton or soft tissues around the skeleton. We operate 24/7 with about 300 staff members.
