Deputy Department Head for the Emergency Department in Halmstad

Job Responsibilities

As the deputy department head for our emergency department, you will play an important role where you, together with the department head, lead and support our employees. The department head has the main responsibility for staff, finances, and working environment, and together you will distribute responsibilities in the most effective way for the operation. In your role as deputy department head, you will work to engage and motivate employees, ensure that daily operations run smoothly, and collaborate with the department head to develop the operation. Your work will contribute to maintaining and strengthening an already well-functioning group, and you will guide employees towards clear common goals. The role gives you the opportunity to lead and influence in a dynamic and eventful environment.

You will report to the department head of the emergency department and will be employed in your basic profession with a four-year appointment as a manager.

About the Workplace

Halland Hospital is the heart of healthcare in the region, with emergency hospitals in Halmstad and Varberg, as well as planned operations in Kungsbacka. Our emergency department is ready around the clock to receive acutely ill and injured patients. With around 45,000 visits per year in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, and ENT, our staff is always prepared to act. About 80 dedicated nurses, nursing assistants, and transporters work in the unit, together with medical secretaries and doctors from several fields. Together, we form a strong team that focuses on the well-being of the patient.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with experience in emergency care and a relevant healthcare education for the position. You have an interest in leading others and the ability to inspire and engage in change processes and operational development. Experience in a leadership position is an advantage, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability.

As a person, you are structured and clear in your communication, which contributes to security and trust among employees. The assignment requires that you find it easy to collaborate and create good relationships, both within and outside your own department.

It is an advantage if you have completed Region Halland's development program for future leaders, Morgondagens Ledare.
