Residents of Jämtland County in need of specialist psychiatric care receive treatment in outpatient or inpatient care within the psychiatric area at Östersund Hospital. The staff members of the units have a significant responsibility to develop and improve care in collaboration with the area's management. There are approximately 270 employees in the area.

We now welcome nursing assistants/caregivers to the BUP acute team and psychiatric inpatient ward with responsibilities for the BUP placements within the psychiatric inpatient ward.

BUP is organizationally part of the area for Children and Young Adults and is a resource for the entire Region Jämtland Härjedalen, located in Östersund, Köpmangatan 24.

The acute team at BUP consists of 10 employees and is composed of various professionals.

Your immediate supervisor will be the Unit Manager for Psychiatric Acute Ward 1B.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Standard nursing assistant tasks in the ward, including medical checks and sampling according to orders. Based on medical orders and in collaboration with the responsible nurse, provide psychiatric care, such as support conversations, psychoeducation, and parental support.

Support in establishing daily routines around sleep, food, and activities. Support during meals and collaboration with the BUP Eating Disorder Team.

Observation/mapping of patients and being a contact person for BUP patients.

Your tasks also include collaborating with the BUP Acute Team and outpatient care coordinators, schools, social services, and any other health care contacts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants a stimulating job and to learn more about acute psychiatric operations.

We prefer that you have a few years of experience in psychiatric work.

Meritorious are:

• Experience working in child and adolescent psychiatry
• Competence and practical experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
