Älmhult, a municipality with fantastic nature and many opportunities for recreation, is home to Förskolan Galaxen. In newly built premises, in an area that is being expanded, the preschool opened in January 2021 and is still growing towards 100 children. The preschool is adjacent to Paradisskolan in the Bökhult area. The preschool operates according to the Norlandia concept with Food with taste - food prepared from scratch on-site by our own chef based on fine ingredients according to a common menu Go green - cooking and purchasing is done according to the principles of sustainability and a circular society Norlandiaskuttet - in collaboration with Generation Pep, outdoor activities and movement twice a day with different educational content.

Description of the position as a preschool teacher

We want to be an innovative preschool with high pedagogical quality and satisfied children and guardians. Förskolan Galaxen is run by Norlandia preschools and is looking for a qualified preschool teacher with drive and commitment. You will work in a block with two departments. You should be knowledgeable in English as many guardians use it for communication with us. We appreciate if you are interested and imaginative and want to involve the children in our various educational learning environments. That you can, together with the team, make each day an opportunity for new discoveries for the children. If you are interested in cooking, animals and birds, yoga, running, gardening, knitting and crocheting, ceramics, we say great, we can use this in our pedagogical work. You will work with the team to drive educational activities according to our model for systematic quality work.

Qualifications and personal qualities           

 You are secure and responsible and passionate about your profession and have an approach and attitude that aligns well with the governing documents and our core values CARE - competence, ambitious, respect, energetic. You have good pedagogical knowledge and are well acquainted with the preschool curriculum and other governing documents and have the ability to implement them in daily activities. You are a solution-oriented, positive, and driven person with ambitions and joy in your work. You enjoy taking responsibility and find it easy to collaborate with your colleagues. You have a good ability to create secure guardians and communicate well in Swedish in both speech and writing. You have a good ability to communicate well in English in both speech and writing as many guardians come to the municipality from other countries.

Other information 

• Employment form:  Permanent with an initial probationary period 
• Scope:  Full-time
• Working hours:  0600-1800, occasional evening meetings may occur
• Start date:  By agreement 

We apply individual salary setting and have a collective agreement. Interviews are conducted continuously and the position may be filled before the application deadline. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.  

Upon employment, a criminal record extract and presentation of diploma/credentials are required.

If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
