About the Position

As a care assistant with us, you will support our residents in their daily lives. Together with your colleagues, the focus will be on working with the individual's own abilities so they can continue to live their lives as they wish! We are strengthening our teams in both cognitive impairment and somatic departments.

As part of our initiative, some care assistants will also receive a quality-supporting role. In this role, you will support the unit managers and be part of our management team. This role involves more daytime work, but some evening shifts will still be required.

We are also advertising for specialist care assistants in dementia care.

Examples of Job Duties:

• provide personal care and service based on the resident's individual needs
• as a contact person, build good relationships with residents and their relatives
• document in the operational system
• participate in developing the operations

In addition, a quality-supporting role includes tasks such as:

• planning and distributing daily work in the department
• working to increase quality and adherence to routines, guidelines, and laws
• assisting with staffing as needed

About the Workplace

We opened our doors at Västerpark on September 1, 2022, making us Örebro Municipality's newest care and nursing home. Here, you will work in fresh facilities, and we also have a lovely little garden and several walking paths nearby. We have space for 80 residents across eight departments, six of which focus on cognitive impairment and two on somatics. The residence is centrally located in Väster, about two km from Örebro Central Station, making it easy to reach us whether you travel by bus, car, or bicycle.

The area of care and nursing is part of the Social Administration. The operations include care and nursing, preventive work, authority exercise in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Nursing, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As a care assistant, you are flexible, empathetic, and have good collaboration skills. To thrive in this role, you should have good initiative, enjoy working independently, and be able to handle most situations calmly. You must master the Swedish language to communicate with other staff, document what the operations require, and provide a good reception for each resident. In the role of quality-supporting care assistant, you also need to be able to convey messages in a pedagogical manner.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• proof of protected professional title, or be covered by transitional regulations (permanently employed care assistant as of July 1, 2023)

Desirable:

• experience working with cognitive impairment
• experience working from a person-centered approach
• experience with IBIC (individual needs in focus)
• experience in staffing work in Medvind
• experience in creating implementation plans
• language representative training via Care and Nursing College

Scope and Start Date

Employment type: permanent employment

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: by agreement

Number of positions: 10-13

Working hours: scheduled day/evening and every other weekend

All positions will be filled if the necessary decisions are made.

Additional Information

As of July 1, 2023, care assistant is a protected professional title. This means you will need proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a care assistant. While waiting for your proof, it is possible to be employed as a care aide. If you had a permanent position as a care assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
