At the Acute Laboratory, 12 people work, mostly biomedical scientists. It is a positive group of different ages with broad expertise and experience. The laboratory operates around the clock in clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine. The laboratory's sampling unit receives patients for drop-in visits on weekdays, during the day, for venous or capillary sampling, as well as for stress tests. On a typical workday, two people staff the sampling unit. Our sampling facilities are newly renovated and purpose-built.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine has overall responsibility for the laboratory medical services provided at the laboratories within the University Hospital of Örebro, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. We conduct a wide range of activities in the fields of clinical chemistry, bacteriology, virology, immunology, transfusion medicine including therapeutic plasma exchange treatment, pathology, cytology, and molecular genetics. The department also includes Sterile Technology. Here, close to 300 people work on routine diagnostics, research and development, and education.

Biomedical Scientist/Nurse Acute Laboratory Sampling Unit

Responsibilities

Work at the laboratory's sampling unit with venous and capillary sampling as well as stress tests. Ordering of consumables and some sample handling may also be included in the duties. If you are a biomedical scientist, there is also the opportunity to work in some areas of the laboratory where we operate in clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed biomedical scientist or nurse. You have good collaboration skills and always provide a positive attitude towards colleagues and patients. You can work independently and have good prioritization skills even in stressful situations. It is important that you enjoy working with patients and have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. Personal suitability is of great importance.
