The emergency care department at USÖ is evolving, and we are now looking for you who are a nurse or specialist nurse in emergency care/child care who wants to contribute to the future of emergency care together with us at the Emergency Department. We offer a stimulating job in emergency care after structured onboarding, with regular internal training.

The operation is characterized by great commitment, high pace, and close collaboration between different staff categories. As an employee, you are often at the center of events, and the work includes both joy and sorrow, illness and recovery, life and death. The operation runs around the clock and consists of reception for adults and children. Patients with care needs in trauma, medicine, surgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, infection, ear-nose-throat, neurology, and urology come to the emergency department. A change process has been implemented in the emergency department focusing on team reception of patients. We use a systematic approach to care for patients in the acute phase with early medical assessment and prioritize according to the triage model RETTS when necessary.

The emergency care department is one of the largest at Örebro University Hospital, with about 170 employees and over 70,000 patient visits per year, including a varied patient flow in pediatrics. There is an active group of specialist nurses in emergency care and a plan for further training of more. Together with you, we want to create the best possible emergency care. Job Responsibilities

Typical tasks in an emergency department, e.g., assessing, prioritizing, and sorting patients, nursing and patient work, medication management, and contact with relatives, etc. The team consists of doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants.

We are keen for you to have a good start in your work with us, and therefore the onboarding is carried out gradually, meaning that you will be onboarded in the adult emergency and pediatric emergency in two separate blocks. After onboarding and training at the workplace, the internal career ladder/competence ladder of the emergency department takes over. The competence ladder is divided into several different levels to allow you to develop in your work as a nurse.

Competence development and further education take place continuously. The educationally responsible nurse, together with the quality-responsible nursing assistant, works on planning and developing internal training.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in emergency care. Clinical experience, especially from an emergency department, is meritorious. Specialist training in emergency care/child care is also meritorious.

To thrive with us, you need to be comfortable working in a dynamic environment. As a person, you enjoy working at a high pace in collaboration with other professions and with the patient in focus. You who are applying have a strong desire to develop, good communication skills, enjoy and find it easy to collaborate. You should provide a safe and professional response to both patients, relatives, and colleagues. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities and previous experiences.

About the Position:

Permanent employment with full-time work. For a limited time, we are testing a working time model for nurses and nursing assistants working day/evening, which means that you can choose to work 90 percent with a maintained full-time salary, provided that you work every other weekend. More information can be provided during the interview.
