About Us

BUP (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry) Sörmland is a regional clinic with facilities in Nyköping and Eskilstuna, as well as first-line clinics in all municipalities of the county. Currently, we do not have our own inpatient care but purchase care places from nearby regions as needed. Child and adolescent psychiatry is a future specialty where new treatments, working methods, and forms of collaboration are constantly being developed. Our medical team currently consists of a total of 11 specialists and 7 residents, but we need to grow!

Your Responsibilities

Diagnostics, assessment, and treatment work at a specialist level, with good access to supervision. The core of child and adolescent psychiatry is teamwork, and as a resident, you will be part of a team with other professionals, where your role is to contribute the medical piece to the whole. As a future child and adolescent psychiatrist, you will gain a clear identity as a physician, while successful treatment work with us arises from the intersection of medical, social, and psychological perspectives. Your residency also includes rotations in child and adolescent medicine, adult psychiatry, and child psychiatric inpatient care.

We have a study director responsible for the BUP residents in the middle of Sweden who continuously invites to joint training days, as well as a local residency supervisor at each clinic responsible for orientation, internal training, and other local residency matters. At your home clinic, you will be assigned a clinical supervisor and a primary supervisor for your residency. Together with them and the study director, you will create a plan for your specialist training. Furthermore, you have 4 hours of study time per week (calculated on full-time). There are good opportunities to influence your scheduling. Your duties with us include day shifts from 8 AM to 5 PM on weekdays, but currently, there are no evening, night, or weekend shifts.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a Swedish medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare and good medical knowledge. You are independent and responsible but also enjoy being part of a team. You understand the value of collaboration, both within your clinic with other professionals and with neighboring care providers. We place great importance on personal qualities.
