Description

You now have the chance to help establish a new psychosis department from the ground up together with an engaged manager and MLA.

The department will have 14 beds, one of which will be reserved for voluntary admission. As a nurse, you will receive training in voluntary admission and then be responsible for the admission and discharge of those patients. The department is located at S: Görans hospital area, centrally located, close to the city's pulse and good communication opportunities.

The department is multiprofessional and consists of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, occupational therapists, and social workers. By offering supportive conversations, we encourage our patients to engage in activities, exercise, and healthy eating habits.

The department will implement Safewards, which is a method to secure care for patients and strengthen their ability to influence which activities the department will offer. You, as a nurse, will be able to participate in planning which Safewards interventions will be applied in the department.

Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with an interest in patients with psychotic diagnoses. You are a positive person who wants to contribute to the development of the department. As a nurse, you have a central role as a team leader with primary responsibility for psychiatric care. Responsibilities in the department include standard nursing tasks such as offering conversations, participating in/leading care planning, medication management, sampling, and documentation in the data journal systems TakeCare and Lifecare. The work also involves close collaboration with outpatient clinics.

Psychiatry is continuously evolving, and Northern Stockholm Psychiatry is constantly striving for modern and innovative working methods; therefore, participation in the departments' quality and development work is a given for our employees.

There are also good development opportunities for you as a nurse, as specialist training in psychiatric care can be part of your development plan, as well as other local training.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse with an interest in psychotic disorders in both acute and long-term phases. Previous experience in psychiatric care or specialist training in psychiatry is advantageous but not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

As a person, you are creative, solution-focused, and responsible. You have good collaboration skills and are loyal to your mission, but above all, you have a strong interest in working with psychotic patients.

The introduction will be tailored to individual needs.

Conditions

The position is a permanent employment during the day/evening and 2 out of 5 weekends, with the possibility of individualized scheduling.

Northern Stockholm Psychiatry, NSP, is part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Area, SLSO. We offer specialized psychiatric outpatient and inpatient care for the residents of Stockholm County. The clinic also includes a county-wide psychiatric emergency reception.

The clinic is organized into sections and has several highly specialized units focusing on areas such as affective disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, and geriatric psychiatry. We are located at S:t Eriksplan, Serafen, Alvik, and at S:t Görans hospital area.

In patient-related work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area:

  • background checks will be applied before hiring decisions according to current guidelines.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required, in addition to Swedish professional certification. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed staff with patient contact.
