About the Role

SÅM is looking for an experienced and driven individual for the position of Operations Manager for the recycling centers in the municipalities of Gislaved, Gnosjö, Vaggeryd, and Värnamo. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for our eight recycling centers, two transshipment stations, and a number of unmanned green waste sites. You will be supported by about twenty competent employees, including supervisors, who work on the daily operations of the facilities. The business is in an expansion phase, and another municipality's recycling center will soon be included in the organization. There is also ongoing development work where the facilities are gradually being upgraded and modernized. As Operations Manager, you will drive this work and collaborate closely with the development department that plans and implements development projects.

The position is both operational and strategic. In the operational aspect, you are expected to lead and coordinate the operations of our facilities with the support of supervisors. The strategic work mainly consists of developing technology and personnel to meet future requirements in sustainability and customer service. In the future, much focus will be placed on customer experience and accessibility. The position involves budget and personnel responsibility, and you are part of SÅM's management team, reporting to the Managing Director.

You will also have contacts with contractors, municipalities, and regulatory authorities in your role. The operations within our facilities are regulated by extensive environmental and occupational health and safety legislation, and it is the Operations Manager's role to ensure compliance with these regulations.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is responsible, structured, and solution-oriented, with a relevant university education or equivalent experience in the field. To succeed in this position, it is essential that you have worked in a leadership position where you have had personnel and operational responsibilities. We value good leadership qualities, a focus on quality, and a sense of customer service in this role.

As significant parts of the position are administrative in nature, you are a proficient user of the Office suite. You handle Swedish fluently and have the ability to express yourself well both verbally and in writing.

To succeed in the role, you also need to be able to create participation and engagement in workgroups and focus on customer value and sustainability.
