Specialist Doctor in Addiction Care

Beroendecentrum Stockholm is Sweden's largest addiction clinic. We offer support and help to individuals struggling with alcohol, drugs, prescription medication, or gambling issues. Our services include acute and full-time care, local outpatient care, and highly specialized care. We are also a clinic involved in university healthcare, research, and education.

The Northern County's outpatient care consists of 10 clinics. We receive patients with harmful use and/or addiction to alcohol, drugs, prescription medication, and gambling.

At Magnus Huss addiction clinic, a multidisciplinary and cohesive team works, consisting of nurses, doctors, medical secretaries, unit manager, and psychologist. The clinic collaborates with social services, psychiatry, primary care, and other healthcare providers, and is part of the care chain with the addiction center's full-time care and Maria Youth. The work is done in close collaboration with other activities of Beroendecentrum Stockholm.

Responsibilities:

The work consists of reception work with assessments, investigations, and treatment of patients' addiction-related problems. The role as a specialist doctor entails medical responsibility for the clinic with the implementation and development of evidence-based methods.

We view and encourage research work in the addiction field positively.

Employment type:

Permanent employment. Full-time 40 hours/week, daytime Monday-Friday. By agreement.

Qualifications:

Licensed doctor with specialist competence in general psychiatry. Experience in addiction care is desirable.

Personal qualities:

The position requires both the ability to take initiatives and work independently. Also, good judgment and cooperation skills, as well as an interest in developing common care and treatment strategies in the patient group. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
