As several of our ST doctors are soon becoming specialist doctors, we now need to recruit more doctors to continue developing our operations in the Internal Medicine section.

The medical area is one of the largest at the university hospital and is divided into five sections; endocrinology and diabetes, gastroenterology, hematology, nephrology, and general internal medicine. Here, patients with diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, blood disorders, kidney diseases, and patients in need of acute internal medical care, often elderly and multi-morbid patients, are treated. Each section has an outpatient clinic. There are also three wards for inpatients.

ST doctor at the Internal Medicine section, Department of Medicine, USÖ

Job Description

The Internal Medicine section currently consists of almost 5 specialist doctors and 9 ST doctors. The section is responsible for the medical staffing at the Acute Care Department (AVA) and staffs the Internal Medicine outpatient clinic, which includes the SVF process for "Serious nonspecific symptoms that may be due to cancer".

The main tasks are to acquire sufficient knowledge to obtain a specialist certificate in internal medicine. This is achieved through work under supervision in specialist outpatient clinics and wards. Serving as the primary on-call doctor in the emergency department is an important part of obtaining a broad competence in acute diseases. During the time as an ST doctor, work as a middle manager will also be introduced to create knowledge and experience in leading other doctors.

Active work on the development projects of the department is also included in the position. Participation in relevant courses, some of which take place externally, is also necessary to achieve the knowledge goals.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed doctor or AT doctor who is expected to complete their training soon and who has an interest in working in internal medicine. Personal qualities will be highly valued.

About the Position:

Permanent position with full-time employment. The position includes participating in the clinic's own on-call activities and in the emergency department's on-call activities.
