Your role

We are now looking for a laboratory assistant for the Chemical Laboratory within the Quality Service section in Kiruna. The Chemical Laboratory consists of three departments; Environmental, X-ray, and Wet Chemical departments. The Environmental department is accredited according to the quality standard ISO 17025 and we have a strong focus on quality at all levels in all departments. We continuously work on improvements to develop our operations. The daily work of a laboratory assistant involves performing laboratory analyses on a variety of instruments according to established standards. Since you, as a laboratory assistant, work systematically with small quantities and margins, we see that you are meticulous and structured as a person. Another part of the laboratory assistants' work is to perform daily control and calibration. Critical moments also include reviewing and evaluating the analysis results before they are approved and reported to the customer. Safety always comes first and we work systematically with risk assessments and deviation management. As a laboratory assistant, we prefer you to be calm and confident, which we see as important to ensure good quality in the work. We have customers from all locations within LKAB's operations and have a strong focus on having satisfied customers. You need to be flexible and able to reprioritize and help within the work group when needed. At the Chemical Laboratory, a total of 17 people work. The laboratory assistants work closely with planners and engineers.

Depending on the department, we work either daytime or shift work.

What you bring

• High school education in a science-oriented program and/or post-secondary studies with a focus on chemistry is a requirement
• A driver's license is a requirement for all positions within LKAB
• Good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written, is a requirement
• Experience in laboratory work and quality issues is highly meritorious

Extent: Full-time, daytime with flextime or shift work

This position may be filled as a permanent position or a temporary position, depending on the needs of the business.
