About the school

Praktiska Gymnasiet in Örnsköldsvik offers students a concept where theory is combined with practical exercises both on the school premises and at workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable experience. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, closeness, and practical learning. Currently, the school has about 175 students and approximately 30 employees.

Your role

The position is a full-time permanent position starting by agreement. You will teach and guide our students in the vehicle and transport program, and together with other colleagues, you will be part of a team. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject with a focus on the students, in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to profession-specific tasks, you, like other teachers at the school, have responsibilities such as mentoring. Together, you and your colleagues coach the students both socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet.

We mainly communicate through SchoolSoft and work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your profile

We are looking for a certified vocational teacher and/or someone with experience as a car mechanic. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you lack teaching certification, you have the opportunity to apply for the position. In such cases, you and the school's principal jointly develop a plan for you to become certified in the shortest way possible. The tasks include contact with the business community as a large part of the students' study time consists of work-based learning (APL), making good communication with employers a merit.
