Capio Geriatrics Vårberg opened in 2020 and offers 66 beds divided into four general geriatric departments with 16-17 beds each. We have direct admission around the clock and a high flow of admissions and discharges.

We are a small facility with a welcoming and familiar atmosphere where decision-making paths are short, giving you ample opportunity to develop and influence the operation forward. Our work is based on strong teamwork with great commitment from staff and management. It is important to us that everyone feels involved in our work and creates a work environment that strengthens our community.

Getting to Vårberg is easy by subway and a short walk to our nice hospital, or you can take the car and we can offer staff parking outside.

Your role

We are looking for a specialist doctor, a leadership role, who wants to work with geriatric care in a multiprofessional team. You are the attending physician for a department but rotate regularly within the facility's departments. You are responsible for supervising the junior doctors and resident physicians you work with. You are part of a team of other specialists, where you support and help each other. On-call work is included in collaboration with Nynäshamn's geriatrics, and on-call compensation leave should be taken regularly for good recovery.

We document in the TakeCare journal system and have the assistance of healthcare administrators with journal writing of dictated discharge summaries.

About you

We are looking for a specialist doctor for a permanent position, but we also welcome locum doctors for longer assignments.

You have a Swedish medical license with specialist competence in geriatrics and experience from inpatient care. We prefer that you enjoy working in a team and can contribute your knowledge across professional boundaries. Personal suitability, a good approach, good cooperation skills, and a genuine interest in geriatrics and teamwork are of great importance. You have a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude and feel confident in your professional role, with the ability to see the operation from a holistic perspective. The work requires good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing. It is a merit to have completed a relevant and current supervisor training.
