The Östergötland police area is the largest police area in Region East in terms of both population and area. The geographical area spans 13 municipalities. The Östergötland police area is divided into three local police areas: Linköping, Norrköping, and Motala. At the police area level, there is an investigation section and a police area secretariat. The local police area Linköping is part of the Östergötland police area. Within the local police area, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for someone who wants to work as a manager for an intervention group in LPO Linköping. In the role of manager for IGV, you have operational responsibility for your staff who work with event-driven and planned operational police activities. You lead your staff in their daily planned work. You hold briefings and plan the day's work based on the directives from the operational management group. Planning and leading interventions and activities are part of the role. Close cooperation with other group leaders and external commanders is essential for success in the assignment.
The group manager's task is also to coordinate the competencies within the group and have a strategy for developing both the operations and the employees to achieve the expected results. The job as a group manager is an independent and developing role where you encounter qualified tasks with a high degree of personal responsibility. You are the employer's representative and have personnel responsibility. As a group manager, you should plan, lead, and follow up on the group's results according to the established guidelines. The police area expects you to have a helicopter perspective and steer the operations towards the authority's and police area's set goals.
As the manager of an IGV group, you report to the local police area manager and are part of the local police area's management team, where you together are responsible for ensuring that assignments are carried out and for driving the authority's change and development work. As a group manager, you represent the entire Police Authority both internally and externally and work to strengthen trust in police operations.

As a manager, you drive development by inspiring and encouraging reflection and feedback in a way that is based on following the law and treating people equally. You create conditions and work for good relationships that contribute to us acting together based on what is best for citizens and the assignment as a whole.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Police degree according to the Police Ordinance (2014:1104)
- at least 6 months of continuous experience working as a manager
- experience in participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside the police organization
- experience in external operations
- experience in participating in change and development work
We consider it an advantage if you also have:
- experience in leading others towards set goals and results
- participated in management forums
- management and leadership training
- experience in participating in/driving collaboration with community actors outside the police organization/your own organization
- basic leadership training
- good knowledge of the local problem picture
