JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

A colleague you can rely on! As a Firefighter on standby, this means you respond to alarms by being on standby and ready for rescue work with a 5-minute call-out time. Your tasks include participating in exercises to become proficient in scenarios related to our most common types of accidents, such as fire, traffic accidents, medical emergencies, or water rescue, preparing for alarms, responding to alarms, and restoring after alarms. It is important that you both live and work within 5 minutes of the fire station in Vadstena. The standby period is 1 week every 3 weeks. The training and exercise time is approximately 70 hours per year.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Standby time and response time: You must be able to reach the fire station within 5 minutes and be on standby for one week every 3 weeks.
• B driver's license: At the time of employment, you must have a B driver's license. Once the employment is signed, you should start training to obtain a C driver's license.
• Good physical condition: We apply physical tests before employment, so you need to be healthy and in good physical condition.
• Permission from employer: You need to have approval from your primary employer to be on standby during regular working hours.
• Swimming ability: Must be able to swim according to Silverbojen standards.
• Treadmill test: You will undergo a job-related treadmill test before being approved for service and employment.
• C driver's license: It is advantageous to have a C driver's license as this is something all our employed firefighters must obtain in the long term.
• Training in municipal rescue services: It is advantageous if you have previously worked in Rescue Services in another location or have training in municipal Rescue Services.

You have the ability to distinguish between issues and individuals and can feel secure even in uncertain situations. It is important that you work well with others. Relate to them in a receptive and smooth manner. You can adapt and seek solutions through an unpretentious approach with a focus on the common goal. You do your best by doing what you can right now.
