Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Assistant at SiS

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM home Rällsögården receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse, in combination with mental health issues.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our clients and are responsible for the basics of daily life, such as cleaning, cooking, and more. You will help maintain safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and contribute to ensuring that our clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule with day-evening and weekend shifts or constant night shifts.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

  • Completed upper secondary education
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or care
  • Driving license B
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to build good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues. We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed temporary staff for more than four weeks will receive a bonus. Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment, covering the summer period from June to August.
