About FRA

The world is FRA's arena. Our mission as an intelligence agency is to protect Sweden from the most serious threats that can be directed against a society – military attacks, terrorism, and cyberattacks. We do this to protect what is most important to us – our safety, our democracy, and our way of life. Through our knowledge of the world, our country can prepare and meet threats in time. We are experts in the cyber field and signal intelligence, acting as an early warning system for military threats. We are also at the core of Swedish cyber defense, protecting the most critical operations and infrastructure from attacks. To fulfill our core missions, advanced technical solutions are required. Together we have a unique task that we solve with knowledge and expertise that we are alone in having in Sweden.

You also make the initial assessment of the material that will later be presented as finished reports to our clients.

The work is performed both independently and in collaboration with others, and the pace of work is very varied. You will work shifts, as operations are conducted both during the day and in the evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The work environment is characterized by thoughtfulness and helpfulness, where there is always someone to ask. Many have a strong interest in continuously learning new things and take pride in their tasks. The position begins with approximately 12 months of intensive internal language training.

At FRA, we have strong confidentiality, and it is important that you are comfortable handling it.

You Can

  • At least completed high school education
  • Language studies, in addition to Swedish and English, at high school level or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, with a strong ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
  • Good general computer skills

We consider it an advantage if you:

  • Have a technical background, from high school, work experience, or another clear technical interest

If you have knowledge of and interest in developments in our world, it will facilitate your work with us. Additionally, it is a strong advantage if you have an interest in languages and a desire to continue learning and developing your language skills.

You Are

We place great importance on your personality and are looking for someone who, with humility, wants to take on a profession where you will never be fully trained, a profession where you and your colleagues always want to develop to become better. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work both independently and in close collaboration with others. You are goal-oriented, structured, and take great responsibility for your tasks.
