About the Role

Vattenfall Eldistribution is at the forefront of the energy transition and plays a central role in the powerful electrification currently taking place in society. We are building the electricity networks of the future today and managing a societal infrastructure that distributes more than half of all electricity produced in Sweden.

Do you have a background in electrical power and want to work in a dynamic environment where responsibility, collaboration, and the ability to drive issues to achieve results are central? Then we have an interesting opportunity for you!

We are looking for a Power Systems Investigator with expertise in electrical power to join the Power System group within the Operations and Maintenance Support unit.

The group's responsibility includes working preventively through, for example, operational analyses, complex calculations, and planning for extraordinary operational situations such as load shedding and restoration of operations. The responsibility also includes managing our functional power system model, including handling information exchange with other electricity network owners.

The Role of Power Systems Investigator

In the role of Power Systems Investigator, there is an opportunity for a broad range of work alongside experts both within and outside the organization. A variety of issues related to electrical power with a focus on electricity network operations are handled by the group, providing opportunities for diverse tasks. You will be part of a highly competent and stimulating group, all with different areas of expertise.

The group collaborates closely with operational monitoring and operational planning and is involved in operationally related issues/projects. You will have the chance to make a difference. The group is committed to making each other better.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Conducting operational analysis that can lead to measures for increased availability in the electricity network, increased utilization of the existing network, or loss reduction.

  • Investigating how various events in the network have affected or may affect operations and operational reliability and what measures need to be taken preventively (e.g., disturbance analyses and the formulation of new operational guidelines).

  • Involvement in both innovation projects and business development projects where new methods or techniques for electricity network operations are evaluated and developed, often in collaboration with or through industry forums.

  • Opportunity to develop into a specialist/expert in one or more areas.

  • Providing support for more junior colleagues.

The role will develop based on the skills you possess and can contribute, through good collaboration within the unit and department.

Travel may be required in this position.

Requirements

  • University degree with a focus on electrical power or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience working with power systems issues within electricity distribution.

  • Fluent Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English, is a requirement for the position.

It is advantageous if you have experience in one or more of the following areas

  • Electricity network operations

  • Investigative work

  • Handling complex issues

In addition to your technical expertise, we place great importance on your personal qualities. As a person, you are responsible and self-driven, which allows you to effectively drive work forward independently. Your strong analytical skills and high problem-solving ability are crucial for managing complex issues and diving deep into various problems. You have excellent collaboration skills and find it easy to build good relationships with various stakeholders. We appreciate innovative thinking and seeing opportunities in change.
