Community Building Administration

The Community Building Administration aims to make, maintain, manage, and develop the municipality's physical environment, infrastructure, and transport with a forward-looking approach. The administration's work is characterized by collaboration, a holistic view, and efficient resource utilization. Through good planning, the administration contributes to an attractive living environment that is sustainable in the long term from ecological, social, and economic perspectives.

The Community Building Administration consists of the following areas of activity: Physical planning, Water, sewage, and waste, Streets, parks, and forests, and Properties, Environment, and construction. The Project and Investment unit drives and coordinates the administration's new and reinvestments.

The VAA department is divided into four units: the VA operations/biogas unit, the development and support unit, the waste/customer service unit, and the material recycling unit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an operations technician at VA-Teknik, you will work in a team consisting of a production leader, two automation technicians, and two operations technicians. The job responsibilities include:

• Water Meter Changes: Perform approximately 700 meter changes per year. Analyze data from water meters to detect leaks and deviations in the pipeline network. Conduct pressure and flow measurements.
• Repair Work Operations and Maintenance: Repair equipment used in VA operations and biogas. Installation and assembly during replacement or new procurement of equipment (pumps, sensors, instruments, pipes, fittings, etc.). Inspection and cleaning of drinking water reservoirs. Preventive maintenance and spare parts management.
• Documentation, Statistics, and Record-Keeping via Computer: Documentation of all pressure measurements, flow tests, changes, and installations. Document deviations in water meters, e.g., freeze damage, external influences, missing seals, etc. Ensure that all documents are correctly archived and accessible for future needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a high school diploma, preferably with a technical focus. A B driver's license and computer skills are required.

It is advantageous if you have experience from process/operations of water and sewage facilities or equivalent. Or if you have training as an operations technician, focusing on water technology/biogas or electrical qualifications.

You have a positive attitude and want to contribute to a good atmosphere in the workplace. We place great emphasis on how you are as a person and how you collaborate in a team and with others.

Since the work is often performed as solo work, the role requires a high degree of independence and responsibility. The role requires the ability to plan, assess information and emerging situations, and perform your tasks within set time frames. The role includes a lot of customer contact, which requires high social competence.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required. A security review with a background check will then be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
