Are you ready for a life-critical job?
At the Medical Products Agency, we work every day for the health of the Swedish people and animals. Here you have the opportunity to combine analysis with communication and collaboration at the national and international level to ensure that Sweden has access to necessary medical technology products. We are now looking for a driven and solution-oriented investigator with a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and create strategic decision-making support.
Our Operations
The Medical Technology Unit works to ensure that medical technology products in Sweden are safe, effective, and suitable for their intended purpose. This is done through, among other things, the designation and monitoring of notified bodies (entities appointed to review manufacturers), supervision of medical technology products and their stakeholders, and the development of regulations. The unit contributes knowledge that supports the development of healthcare and promotes innovation and life sciences. In recent years, the Medical Products Agency has been given an expanded responsibility to support access to medical technology products for healthcare and users. With the advancement of technology and increased digitalization, there is an expansion of the mission in additional areas such as cybersecurity, AI, information security, and health data management.
We operate in a multidisciplinary environment in close collaboration with other parts of the authority, healthcare, industry, and other authorities. The unit's broad expertise gives us a good ability to handle complex issues and see the big picture. Many issues are cross-border, and thus a growing part of our work is done in collaboration with authorities in other European countries.
Your Responsibilities
Together with colleagues, you will develop the Medical Products Agency's role in preventing and managing shortages of medical technology products, in collaboration with other authorities, healthcare, and industry.
You will be a key person in our effort to create a robust and long-term solution for monitoring and reporting the availability of medical technology products in Sweden.
Your main tasks will include:
- Participating in the development of the authority's ability to convey a national situation report on the availability of medical technology products.
- Continuously analyzing and processing data to create national situation reports and decision-making support.
- Conducting data collection, environmental analysis, and production mapping of medical technology products.
- Developing risk assessments and impact analyses related to supply and production chains.
- Collaborating with other authorities, companies, and stakeholders to gather information and create coordinated strategies.
- Facilitating workshops and dialogue meetings to strengthen collaboration between stakeholders.
Your Background
We are looking for someone who has:
- A relevant academic education for the position, e.g., in health sciences, engineering, political science, economics, or another natural or social science education.
- At least a couple of years of experience working with supply and/or preparedness issues, for example, within healthcare, other public administration, or private sector.
- Good computer skills.
Meritorious:
- Experience working on the development of crisis preparedness, civil defense, or total defense.
- Experience in procurement within healthcare or other public sector.
- Knowledge and experience from research, development, or regulatory work within medical technology.
- Experience working with production/manufacturing processes for medical technology products.
- Experience in environmental analysis and risk assessments.
- Experience in project management or business development.
Your Personal Qualities
We believe you are a curious and solution-oriented person, with a desire to understand the big picture. Additionally, you are communicative and pedagogical, with the ability to adapt messages and analyses for the target audience. You have a humble approach by being collaborative with a good ability to create necessary relationships. For the role, we see that you are structured and analytical, with the ability to handle multiple parallel assignments.
We place great importance on personal qualities.
