We are now looking for a Senior Project Manager for the Community Transformation unit, which is part of the Prototyping Society department.

About us The Prototyping Society department works with humanistic-driven research where technology and people meet. We drive and enable societal transformation through design, business development, and innovation processes. With strong thought leadership, we catalyze and lead relevant ecosystems.

You will belong to the Community Transformation unit, which leads and drives various development and innovation projects with actors such as municipalities, regions, and companies. We create relationships, ecosystems, and knowledge connections through various research and innovation projects with proximity to several research fields and interdisciplinary areas, always with design-driven methods and the user in focus. We have a particularly close connection to the fields of cultural and creative industries, sustainable and inclusive urban development, and AI and digitalization. We are an engaged team of 10 people, consisting of Project Managers, Researchers, Innovation Strategists, and Research and Development Engineers. About the role This role is important for RISE in Umeå and our ongoing expansion in the region. As a Project Manager at RISE, you will initiate and drive projects and have great opportunities to influence the direction of your work. You will have customer responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to the development of both private and public sectors. You will also collaborate with the region's public actors and funders such as Vinnova and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth. You will involve and coach your project members in their task to create value for our partners and clear results in collaboration with other parts of RISE. The work also includes facilitating collaboration, dialogues, and larger processes with many involved actors. The work location is Umeå at our office in Scharinska villan. We currently operate from a hybrid working model where it is possible to share your working hours between the office and home. Travel occurs monthly. Who are you? To succeed in the role of Project Manager, you should have experience in driving externally funded development projects and application processes. You are used to building, developing, and managing consortia, networks, and collaboration platforms, and we believe you have a large network in Umeå and the region. You have a relevant university degree for the unit and speak and write Swedish and English fluently. You have a good understanding of the research and innovation system and how collaboration and the funding landscape work. Furthermore, you have good experience in project management and budget monitoring. You have experience working in the public sector and knowledge of multi-level governance within the public sector, from local to EU level. It is an advantage if you have led research and/or development projects. It is also an advantage if you have experience in facilitating processes and dialogue methods. If you have a background in or have worked with AI and digitalization issues, that is also a plus. As a person, you are curious, proactive, and open to new ideas. You ask when you do not understand and are used to testing things out. You have good self-leadership, are business-minded, and instill confidence in both customers and colleagues. You enjoy building relationships and are a team player with good collaboration skills. Are we a good match? At Community Transformation, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and creative environment where innovation, digitalization, and societal development go hand in hand. Our workplace in Umeå is something special – we are located in the iconic Scharinska villan, a well-known landmark in the heart of the city. Here, we work together with colleagues from all over RISE, creating an inspiring and social work environment.

We have a strong sense of community, where breadth and expertise meet in an engaged and forward-looking culture. With us, you will be part of a team that is passionate about transformation through creativity, digital technology, and innovation. We have extensive experience working with cultural and creative industries and drive projects in urban development, digital transformation, and AI. We are also part of the national innovation programs, which gives us the opportunity to influence both locally and nationally. Welcome with your application!
