University Lecturer in Nursing
The Department of Health Sciences operates at Campus Sundsvall and Campus Östersund. The department offers education and research in a range of subjects, focusing on humans, health, and well-being.
The department offers courses, undergraduate programs, and advanced level education. Our undergraduate programs include Public Health Science, Sports Science, Mental Health, Health and Rehabilitation in Working Life, and Nursing Education. Research is multidisciplinary and conducted in the fields of public health science, sports science, medical science, nursing, and rehabilitation science, as well as at the National Winter Sports Center (NVC).
Subject Description
Staff within the Nursing subject primarily work in both undergraduate education, the nursing program, and at the advanced level.
At the advanced level, three specialist nursing programs are offered; focusing on healthcare for children and adolescents, district nursing, and psychiatric care. The subject also offers master's and doctoral programs in nursing.
Education is provided at both campuses, and the target group is healthcare within regional, municipal, and private sectors throughout the country. The education to become a licensed nurse also qualifies you to work as a nurse internationally.
The research strategy of the subject has recently been revised and will focus on health-promoting and sustainable nursing as well as professional development for sustainable nursing.
Job Responsibilities
The job responsibilities include planning and conducting lectures, seminars, and examinations. These tasks may apply to both campuses, so travel between campuses may occur. Additionally, responsibilities include course management, assessment of students in clinical placements, course development, ongoing quality work, and supervision. The work is primarily conducted within the nursing programs.
The job also involves independently being responsible for teaching courses and supervision regarding specific subjects within the programs, as well as collaborating with colleagues in planning the work for the above-mentioned teaching so that students at campus and decentralized education with teaching at 5 learning centers in both counties receive the same teaching and supervision. The work also involves participating in the development of increasingly digitalized teaching.
