Environmental Officer at the County Administrative Board

Do you want to make a difference by working with the supervision of environmentally hazardous activities? We are looking for a recent graduate with some experience in case management within public operations for a 5-month temporary position.

What the role entails

The role involves independently working with the supervision of permitted environmentally hazardous activities, where you review and manage environmental reports and ensure that the operations comply with applicable environmental regulations. You will also handle incoming cases regarding these activities and be responsible for the assessment of particularly hazardous chemicals.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

• at least 3 years of education at a university or college in the environmental field
• 2–12 months of relevant experience in supervision according to the Environmental Code
• good ability to express yourself in speech and writing
• driving license B category.

You take great responsibility for your tasks. You are proactive and take your own initiatives to drive the work forward, while also being comfortable making decisions. You are solution-oriented and find effective ways to handle challenges. As a person, you are pleasant, secure, and have an easy time collaborating with others, which makes you thrive in a team.

As an employee at the County Administrative Board, you need to

• be able to make decisions with consideration for multiple perspectives based on a holistic view

• have the ability to prioritize and adapt to work with new tasks or in new contexts.

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience with the Environmental Code
• experience in supervising environmentally hazardous activities.

The position is located in the environmental department with 120 employees, and the environmental protection unit is one of six units with 25 employees.
