Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a Postdoc to lead the development of next-generation spatial computational tools within the research group (www.spatialresearch.org (http://www.spatialresearch.org)) as part of ongoing international collaborations. For example, an important part is to contribute to (i) the Human Developmental Cell Atlas Sweden (HDCA) with computational methods to establish common coordinate frameworks for gene expression-based 3D atlases of human organs and (ii) the development of computational methods to explore, integrate, and impute the increasing number of molecular measurements within tissues being developed within the group (histology, gene expression, genomics, small molecules) to understand cell types and conditions in diseases such as cancer. In summary, computational work with high-dimensional data, interdisciplinary networking, and outreach activities are central components of the position.

Qualifications

Requirements

• PhD degree or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
• Experience in method development in deep learning of spatial data from NGS-based methods
• Experience in method development in deep learning of morphological data from tissue sections
• Experience in method development in 3D visualization
• Experience in method development in generative machine learning and probabilistic models
• Scientific skill, independence, and collaborative ability

Meritorious

• At the time of the application deadline, no more than three years since obtaining a PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD.
• Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality
• Experience working with data formats from Visium
• Experience working with data formats from Xenium
• Experience in HPC environments
