Healthcare Assistant at Ward 91 (Acute Cardiology)

Responsibilities

As a healthcare assistant at Ward 91 (Acute Cardiology), you will work closely with patients. Your main tasks will include:

• Performing basic nursing actions according to a nursing standard and specific nursing actions, e.g., catheter insertion
• Monitoring and documenting vital parameters (NEWS)
• Setting up for continuous heart monitoring and performing ECGs
• Conducting various types of sample collections
• Preparing patients for different examinations
• Assisting with patient transport to various examinations and transfers
• Planning nursing work and assessing risks together with your nurse in your care team

Workplace

Ward 91 is a cardiology acute care unit with 14 beds divided into three teams. We care for patients with heart and vascular-related diseases, but we also care for patients with other specific diagnoses.

Patients come to the ward primarily from the emergency department and HIA. We collaborate with other heart departments and clinics. The ward also provides postoperative care after coronary angioplasty and pacemaker and ICD implantations. For several years, we have had a special collaboration with the emergency department, allowing us to receive emergency patients directly from the emergency room who do not require HIA or other higher-level care. These may include patients with bradycardia, ongoing chest pain needing certain medications, or increased monitoring needs.

We are a cheerful group where several employees have extensive experience in cardiac care. Our work focuses on the future; we strive to develop and want to deliver good and safe care in a good working environment for our patients.

Your Profile

You are a trained healthcare assistant, and we prefer that you have previous experience working in a hospital ward, but this is not a requirement. Experience in cardiac care is an advantage. A prerequisite is good language and writing skills in Swedish.

Interest in the job and the ability to adapt to different circumstances are some of the personal qualities we appreciate. You will work in a team, so we prefer that you can collaborate easily and are attentive to colleagues and patients. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
