In the city center, Luleå Gymnasieskola is a campus area that gathers most municipal upper secondary education programs with nearly 2300 students. Students at Luleå Gymnasieskola are provided with the conditions for lifelong learning by focusing on knowledge, participation, responsibility, and leadership, preparing them for working life and as citizens in general. The connections with the business community are many, and in the local steering groups, the business community collaborates with the upper secondary school to create good conditions for students to be well prepared for life after upper secondary education.

The upper secondary school also offers apprenticeship programs, advanced courses in mathematics and physics, as well as nationally approved sports education and national basketball gymnasium.

We are now looking for a teacher of Swedish and Swedish as a second language for the introductory program at Luleå Gymnasieskola.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a teacher of Swedish and Swedish as a second language for the Introductory Program at the Lärkan block at Luleå Gymnasieskola.

You will primarily teach basic Swedish as a second language within the language introduction program at the Lärkan block and also with SVA upper secondary courses. Luleå Gymnasieskola collaborates between blocks, so you will teach SVA upper secondary courses in other blocks. Mentorship is included in the position. You will be part of the language introduction program's work team, which will drive the education and ensure the quality of assignments together with the student health team, career counselor, and principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teacher certification in Swedish and Swedish as a second language for upper secondary school. Teaching qualifications in additional subjects may be advantageous, such as English for primary/secondary school or social studies subjects for primary school. Please attach your degree certificate and certification with your application.

You have good subject knowledge combined with pedagogical skill. You have knowledge and experience of digital tools. As a teacher, you are a clear leader in the classroom and care about creating good and trusting relationships with students. You take initiative and start activities to achieve good results. You enjoy collaborating with colleagues and the student health team. You put the student at the center and develop teaching according to scientific methods and proven experience.

You are a responsive person with good collaborative skills who works systematically with others and independently. We would like you to work subject-integrated in certain course components. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and how you complement our team. Experience in mentorship and teaching newly arrived students and students with disabilities is advantageous.

If you are not a qualified teacher, you may be considered for a temporary position as an unqualified teacher.

If you obtain the position, you must be able to present a valid extract from the criminal record.

Start date: 2025-08-13 or by agreement. Interviews may be conducted continuously.
