About the Company

AirSon is part of the energy group E.ON and specializes in advanced and niche design and construction of process-related HVAC installations as well as energy consulting primarily for industrial and energy-intensive customers. Our projects are mainly found in pharmaceuticals, food, high-tech (e.g., battery factories, microelectronics, optics, etc.) and research facilities. Our clients are often multinational companies, and assignments are carried out both nationally and internationally.

The company currently consists of 47 driven and skilled engineers and project managers, complemented by a large network of subcontractors and consultants. The organization is divided into four main areas: Pharmaceuticals & Medical Technology, Food, Battery Technology, and High Tech. The common denominator for all is advanced installation technology.

Background and Assignment

AirSon has grown significantly over the past 7-8 years and, with E.ON at the helm, has a clear vision for continued growth. We are therefore looking for a senior Construction Engineer who is accustomed to managing larger projects with financial responsibility. This position complements our team of senior project managers.

Our Projects

The role AirSon takes in a project can vary. Most commonly, we act as a consultant, but we can also serve as a general contractor or as the client's representative. It is not uncommon for AirSon to be involved early in the idea and sketch phase, which places high demands on the ability to estimate costs and timelines based on experience and key figures without finalized documentation.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Construction Engineer, you are a key figure at AirSon, driving the entire bidding process and participating in planning, coordinating, and following up on all phases of projects from start to finish. You are responsible for procurement, negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, and for developing cost estimates, contractual documents, and contracts. You support and assist project managers with schedules, project plans, documentation, financial follow-up, and act as a sounding board. You participate in various types of follow-up meetings where construction and finance are on the agenda.

An important role for the Senior Construction Engineer is to update and communicate information between the client, AirSon, and subcontractors. If anything changes that affects the work, schedule, and estimates from a contractual perspective, it is your responsibility to communicate and update all parties involved. Large complex projects involve many different disciplines to keep together.

Job responsibilities in brief:

• Strategic sourcing and supplier development: Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans. Actively seek, evaluate, and build relationships with suppliers to ensure the best possible delivery terms and quality for our projects.

• Project support and operational purchasing: Support project managers and technical teams with operational purchasing and ensure that the specific material needs of projects are met efficiently and cost-effectively.

• Contract negotiations and supplier relationships: Conduct negotiations, establish and manage contracts, and ensure that our supplier relationships are based on mutual understanding and long-term collaboration.

• Cost estimation and scheduling. Support our project managers and commercial organization with budget and cost components of our bids.

• Production planning, payment plans, and ensuring delivery: Support our project managers, especially in our larger projects, by aligning and substantiating schedules, payment plans, and ensuring project deliveries to streamline our projects.

• Ongoing follow-up of contractors' invoicing and change order management.

• Follow up, analyze, and evaluate completed projects.

• Follow up, analyze, and evaluate previous work and suppliers.

• Provide support to the company's salespeople and project managers in contract administration.

• Bridge between project managers, sales, finance, and administration.

• Refine AirSon's procurement/bidding processes and routines and further educate employees.

• Sustainable procurement strategies in line with CSRD.

Who are you?

You have a relevant engineering degree in installation technology, construction, mechanical, process, electrical, or equivalent. We see that you have several years of experience as a Construction Engineer, managing complex facilities. Through this experience, you have demonstrated the ability to integrate and understand the involved disciplines, timelines, costs, and potential risks. You have a very good understanding of construction law and contract formation (AB04, ABT06, and ABK09). You navigate well among regulations and guidelines governing purchases and deliveries.

To be successful, you need excellent oral communication skills, but you also need to express yourself well in writing, as our clients have high demands for documentation that describes planning, execution, and follow-up of projects, in both Swedish and English. You have very good financial and analytical skills, and you handle various IT tools for estimation, purchasing, and planning at a high level.
