Jakobsberg University Health Center is one of three university health centers that, together with the Academic Primary Care Center (APC), constitutes the university healthcare of primary care.
The health center has approximately 13,500 registered patients, and through the university component, we integrate clinic with research, education, further training, and development, where our mission is to strengthen the entire primary care in the Stockholm Region.
We are looking for you who are a specialist in general medicine and an experienced clinician in primary care who can strengthen the university health center together with other colleagues and staff. If you are a doctoral student or already have a PhD, it is an advantage.
Jakobsberg University Health Center has a special responsibility for further training and development in Elderly Health and Cancer. We conduct research in several areas and want to be at the forefront of innovation and new working methods.
We belong to SLSO, the Stockholm County Health Care Area, and are located at Jakobsberg Hospital. We have good collaboration with our neighboring healthcare providers, and the hospital includes geriatrics, ASIH, and primary care rehabilitation.
We have about 50 employees in various professions, a well-functioning and positive workgroup. Job satisfaction and teamwork are important guiding principles in our daily work, where the patient is the focus.
We offer diabetes and asthma/COPD clinics, elderly care, and district nurse clinics. The health center manages its home care assignment as a separate unit with a responsible physician. We have enhanced psychosocial competence with psychologists and social workers for both children/youth and adults.
About the Assignment:
The work is varied, and as a specialist physician in primary care, you will meet patients of all ages and from different cultures. The job requires broad competence and independence. You will supervise medical students, AT, BT, and ST doctors and support other professional categories in medical assessments.
You will participate in developing new working methods, for example, with the help of digitalization. You contribute to continuously improving our patient work.
Jakobsberg, Gustavsberg, and Liljeholmen University Health Centers, together with the Academic Primary Care Center (APC), constitute a university healthcare unit within primary care in the Stockholm Region. The clinic-based organization shall provide health and medical care while also performing and promoting clinical research, basic and further education, knowledge dissemination, and implementation of new research results. Job Responsibilities:
The work involves all common tasks for general specialists in primary care. We strive for all patients to have a named physician for the best continuity.
Qualifications:
Specialist physician in general medicine. You have previous experience in primary care and the TakeCare journal system. Swedish language skills at least level C1.
Employment Type:
Permanent employment. Full-time, 100%. A probationary period may apply. Start as soon as possible or by agreement.
Personal Qualities:
You are engaged and have good collaboration skills. You drive your own work but also want to contribute to the whole at the health center and develop the operations together with us. A good reception for both patients and colleagues is very important to us.
Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

- register control is applied before the decision on employment according to current guidelines.
- employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health care before employment.
- in addition to Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding regarding non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
