About Fryshuset Foundation and the School

Fryshuset enables young people to change the world through their passions. We create communities where young people are seen, heard, and counted. Based on this foundation, we run around 60 different activities in several locations across Sweden. We believe that everyone can succeed and deserves a second chance. The Fryshuset Foundation is a non-profit organization that is religiously and politically independent.

Fryshuset Grundskola Husby is a middle school (grades 7-9) focused on knowledge and learning. We have about 200 students and are located near the subway. Our school has qualified subject teachers who work together and share responsibility for the students both inside and outside the classroom. In our beautiful premises centrally located in Husby, all students have the best conditions to thrive and achieve good results.

Your responsibilities

The school nurse's mission is to work together with the school management and others within student health to create the best possible conditions for the student's health, development, and learning by contributing medical expertise to the team.

As a school nurse, you work health-promoting and preventive based on the regulations in the health and medical care law, the school law, and guidelines for student health. You meet students individually for health conversations and health examinations and conduct vaccinations according to our basic program.

The work involves close collaboration with our other school nurses and cooperation with students, guardians, school staff, other personnel within EMI, and the external contacts that the job entails. You work closely with the students to build relationships and promote health work, for example, through classroom visits or eating in the school cafeteria.

Personal qualities and qualifications

To thrive and succeed in the role of school nurse, you should be genuinely interested in the mental and physical health of children and adolescents. You need to be self-driven, structured, and able to plan your work independently. We value collaboration and that you are a good team player, seeing time spent with the student group as an important part of the success factors in student health work. You are expected to interact in a pleasant and constructive manner with many functions that may have different expectations of you. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with one of the following specialist qualifications:

Specialist nurse in health and medical care for children and adolescents
District nurse
School health care

Previous experience working as a school nurse is an advantage. It is also an advantage if you speak more languages than English and Swedish.

Employment

Scope: 80-100% - the degree of employment can be discussed.

Employment: Permanent position with a 6-month probationary period. This is a vacation position.

Start date: August 4 or by agreement.

Application deadline: June 5. We are working with selection and interviews on an ongoing basis, and the position may therefore be filled before the application deadline.

We are covered by a collective agreement (the school agreement).
