About the Unit

161st Air Surveillance Battalion is part of F16. The battalion's main task is to be responsible for the surveillance of Sweden's airspace and air combat control. The battalion is daily engaged in operational activities. Other tasks include the operation and protection of fortification command posts and the grouping of mobile sensors and radio systems across Sweden. Therefore, the battalion consists of companies that are spread across different geographical locations.

Bålsta Facility

is a command post served by the 1616th Headquarters Company. The 1616th Headquarters Company is in a strong growth phase and is now recruiting a security officer.

About the Job

As a security officer, you are expected to perform tasks such as security protection analyses, security vetting, internal training in security service, and handling and following up on security-related incidents.

You should be prepared to solve emerging urgent tasks. Uncertain task conditions require continuous security awareness, as well as responsibility and initiative from each employee. The position involves a high degree of confidentiality.

You have a high security mindset and are analytical and structured. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

• Security officer according to FM UndSäkC training plan
• Experience working in ISUS and SWECCIS

The Uppland Air Wing, F 16, is headquartered at Uppsala garrison. The unit is part of the Swedish Air Force and is responsible for the operation and monitoring of Uppsala Airport as well as training conscripts in several different positions in the Air Force. The unit also leads the 161st Combat Control and Air Surveillance Battalion, which directs combat aircraft in the air and maintains constant surveillance of Swedish airspace. The unit operates from several different locations in the country and constitutes an important part of the growth period that the Air Force is facing.
