Unilever is looking for a Payroll Specialist
Unilever is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist for a part-time position at 50% starting immediately and lasting until the end of the year. You will play a key role in a large transformation project where Unilever's ice cream unit will become its own company. The role suits you if you enjoy taking independent responsibility and driving work forward – both operationally and project-wise.
About the role
As a Nordic Payroll Specialist, you will have significant responsibility in leading and executing tasks within both payroll and project support. You will be part of the regional implementation team but will independently drive processes in close dialogue with internal functions such as HR, Finance, Time & Attendance, and Integration, as well as external payroll providers. The role requires initiative, structure, and confidence in working independently in a complex, international environment.
Examples of responsibilities:
- Independently drive and coordinate country-specific payroll activities within the project
- Gather requirements and policies, document, and communicate them further
- Conduct tests and parallel runs prior to system implementation
- Ensure readiness for go-live and support during the hypercare period
- Create documentation and materials for knowledge transfer
- Manage local benefits (e.g., meal vouchers, pension, ad hoc benefits)
- Execute Workday changes and act as a contact person for local managers
- Provide audit data and contribute to compliance work
- Collaborate with the Payroll Hub team on end-to-end payroll delivery
- Handle employee inquiries related to payroll
Qualifications:
- Several years of experience in payroll, preferably in a Nordic context
- Good understanding of country-specific payroll legislation and compliance
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with global payroll vendors and HR systems like Workday
- Previous experience in transformation projects or system implementation is a plus
- You work in a structured manner and drive your work independently from start to finish
- Familiar with coordinating multiple stakeholders in an international environment
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written; a Nordic language is a plus
This is a unique opportunity for you to take ownership in a high-priority project at Unilever – a world-leading company with a strong presence in the Nordics.
