We are now looking for a curious network analyst with an interest in IP networks and protocol analysis, who wants to work in a highly prioritized area of the agency. Your mission

As a network traffic analyst, you belong to a unit within the Signals Intelligence Department. The department works with collection, processing, and analysis, and delivers intelligence reports and other services to the agency's clients. You will be part of a team working in a prioritized emerging area. In this role, you have a great opportunity to steer and influence your work based on a culture that encourages new ideas and solutions.

Your role consists of identifying and following actors that are interesting from an intelligence perspective. You will work with processing and analysis of network traffic, as well as creating contact points with other parts of the agency to maximize the benefits of the capabilities that the group develops.

Your main tasks will include:

• Traffic analysis focusing on signal, IP network, and protocol analysis to understand the entirety of systems
• Programming for processing and analysis of large data sets
• Developing methods to extract sought-after information
• Presenting and disseminating information about the results of your area of work

You can

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in IT, computer engineering, systems science, network forensics, or similar, or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience
• Knowledge of programming
• Understanding of traffic patterns within IP networks
• Experience in network analysis/protocol analysis
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

• Experience with network analysis software such as Wireshark/Tshark
• Processing, visualization, and presentation of large data sets
• Computer networks and communication protocols
• Network forensics
• Programming in a Linux, Python, and Postgres environment
• CCNA, CCIE, and similar network or network security certifications
• Experience or knowledge of military communication systems
• Experience or interest in intelligence operations, defense, and security issues
• Language skills in Russian

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, about 10 minutes by bus from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. A requirement for employment is a successful security clearance with a background check. The security clearance will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
