The IT department at Stockholm University consists of approximately 110 employees who have an overarching responsibility for Sweden's largest university's IT environment.
This includes developing/managing/deploying and monitoring platforms, systems, and services that support academia, education, research, and administration.
We are looking for an engaged and technically skilled Support Technician who wants to be a key player in our team! The placement is within the IT Competence section, which serves as the department's contact point for customers and users.

Responsibilities
In the role of Support Technician, you will be part of our team responsible for the university's IT support. The technical competence in the team is high, and there is great variation in the cases we handle.
Here is a selection of what is handled within Support:
- staffing the phone support during office hours
- handling incoming cases via a case management system
- providing support and service to employees and students
- documenting, updating/maintaining, and publishing support documentation
- answering general questions occurring in a larger IT environment.
We work in teams with collaboration as a guiding principle and want you to have the same attitude towards collaboration and knowledge sharing and to work together towards set goals. You will also participate in efforts to raise the competence of the organization's employees, as we move our knowledge closer to the users.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP and DHCP management
- Good knowledge of various operating systems, MacOS, Windows
- Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing, as many of the university's employees are English-speaking
- Experience with knowledge articles.
Meritorious are:
- Experience working in a case management system
- Experience working in a telephony system/case management system
- Experience with Jamf MDM and Microsoft SCCM or equivalent
- Experience with networking and configuration
- Experience with Cisco IOS or equivalent.

As a person, you take responsibility for your tasks and ensure they are carried out in a careful and reliable manner. You are engaged in your work and always strive to contribute the best delivery. You have a knack for problem-solving and are willing to take your own initiatives and ensure that projects move forward, whether it involves improving processes or coming up with new ideas. Your creativity allows you to find new and innovative solutions to challenges. You have good communication skills in contact with users and can explain complex solutions in a simple and pedagogical way. You have good collaboration skills with various parties and a positive attitude.

About the employment
The employment is permanent full-time with a six-month probationary period. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
