Physical Planning Coordinator at Fortifikationsverket
Fortifikationsverket is experiencing strong growth – we are now looking for two Physical Planning Coordinators for our strategic property management team. Do you have experience in physical planning within public administration? Would you like to contribute to Sweden's defense capability? Then we welcome your application!

With us, you will help shape a new team – tasked with handling strategic issues related to physical planning for the management department. The team works with specialist support in cultural heritage and physical planning and develops and improves processes and methods that strengthen Fortifikationsverket's long-term management. The team currently consists of a group manager, a cultural heritage specialist, and a physical planning coordinator.
As a Physical Planning Coordinator, your primary task is to coordinate and participate in work and projects related to physical planning.
Examples of tasks:
- Provide specialist support regarding physical planning
- Develop, improve, and manage processes and methods
- Collaborate with the Armed Forces and other clients, for example in the implementation of garrison planning
- Lead and coordinate consultants or project managers
- Participate in and coordinate referral work
- Conduct training initiatives
- Process cases
Qualifications and characteristics
We are looking for someone with experience in physical planning within public administration and knowledge of the Planning and Building Act and environmental legislation. A professional/university education with a focus on physical planning, urban planning, architecture, land surveying, or other education we deem relevant for the position.
It is advantageous if you have good knowledge and training in GIS systems and handling geographic information. Furthermore, it is a plus if you have experience or training in cultural heritage and/or process management/project management.
Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we are looking for someone who is collaborative, structured, and analytical. You thrive in a growing and developing organization and are not afraid to take initiatives. You are used to planning, leading, and following up on tasks within given time frames. A high level of security awareness is a given in this role.
Furthermore, we see that you have:
- Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing and good knowledge of administrative IT support systems
- Experience working in a security-classified position
- Familiarity with the total defense operations

About the employment
The position is a permanent employment. The place of employment is Eskilstuna or Stockholm or as agreed. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as positions at Fortifikationsverket are security classified. This means that security checks and background checks will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act.
