Are you a driven researcher looking to lead innovative projects in production and work environment? As Sweden's research institute, we work with solutions that make a difference here and now, as well as with knowledge areas and technologies that may be crucial tomorrow!
About us RISE is focusing on the sustainable transition that the business community, society, and the world need. As the entire Swedish research institute, we work with solutions and conditions that make a difference here and now, and with the knowledge areas and technologies that may be crucial tomorrow.
The unit for Production and Work Environment is part of the department of Methodology, Textiles, and Medical Technology, within the division of Materials and Production. Production and Work Environment aims to support the manufacturing industry from a holistic perspective on people, technology, and organization. This includes improvement and change work, automation, and the digitalization of industry, as well as the transition to sustainable production. We believe that innovations are developed in collaboration and that an interdisciplinary approach is the key to change.
About the role As a researcher with us, you will work on and lead various types of research projects and customer assignments. In the role of researcher, you are expected to, in collaboration with industry and academia, create and drive both research projects and customer assignments, primarily within logistics, production chains, and automation. Knowledge of these processes and their effects on the economy and other sustainability parameters is an important part of the role, and you contribute with your understanding of production flows and lean production.
The tasks will be multifaceted and developing. You will be driving the work of creating, developing, and implementing larger research and development projects within your area. You also find it important to disseminate the results of research to industry and society through lectures, training, and coaching. Opportunities can be created for continued academic qualification based on the results of the research.
The position is located in Mölndal, and you will report to the unit manager.
Who are you? To be successful in this role, we see that you have a master's degree from a technical university. We view positively that you have a PhD and/or research experience with a focus related to industrial production. You have a good understanding of production flows and the interplay between people, machines, and complex systems as production systems.
We value experiences of industry collaboration and the ability to translate industry needs into research and assignments. You have a good ability to express yourself in English, both spoken and written, and a basic ability to speak and write in Swedish. You can work independently but also collaborate with colleagues with different competencies and customers. It is important that you are curious, open, and eager to learn new things.
Experience and knowledge from material handling and flow simulation (DES) is meritorious.
Are we right for each other? At RISE, we appreciate diversity, and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and skills for the future. With us, passionate problem solvers meet to tackle important and exciting challenges for the industry. We promise you no easy job, but we promise you a group of wonderful, engaged colleagues and interesting challenges. With us, you will have the opportunity to make a difference – welcome to Sweden's entire research institute and innovation partner!
