The Department of Pulmonary Medicine in Malmö consists of the Pulmonary Ward Malmö and the Pulmonary Outpatient Clinic Malmö, together we provide specialized care for severely lung-ill patients. Here you will meet everyone from previously healthy individuals who have suffered from pneumothorax to very seriously ill patients at the end of life.

The Pulmonary Ward Malmö is a care unit with integrated outpatient services that has the capacity to care for 22 inpatients and four day patients. We encounter diagnoses such as COPD, emphysema, lung cancer, pneumothorax, and interstitial lung diseases daily in our work. The outpatient services provided at the Pulmonary Ward Malmö is an intervention unit that performs a variety of bronchoscopy examinations, drainage insertions, pleural taps, and fine needle aspiration preparations.

The Pulmonary Outpatient Clinic Malmö works to investigate and treat patients with some form of serious lung disease. Our main areas of specialization are COPD, interstitial lung disease (ILD), lung cancer (TXO), and long-term oxygen therapy. We also provide care for patients receiving non-invasive ventilation treatment (NIV). This clinic proudly maintains high patient accessibility to all nursing staff, nurses, and physiotherapists, and independently drives specialized care with a constant focus on improvement aimed at creating a thriving environment regarding work conditions, skill enhancement, and patient safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of a curator, you play a very important function in the care and treatment of patients. You meet people at different stages of life who have different conditions, which requires good communication and an empathetic approach. Within our VO, the psychosocial work is directed towards patients and their closest relatives of all ages. You work with qualified psychosocial investigation, assessment, and treatment work. This includes motivational work, crisis support, and processing conversations. You work in a team and in close collaboration with other professionals. Furthermore, it includes counseling and guidance in social issues, contacts with other healthcare providers and partners. The position is a parental leave cover for at least one year.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who have a degree in social work with good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you are a licensed health and medical care curator. Likewise, if you have basic psychotherapy training (step 1) or other relevant further education. We also appreciate if you have previously worked as a curator in a hospital.

We see that you are confident in your professional role and have a solution-oriented and positive attitude. For you, it is natural to build good relationships as well as to work in a team. At the same time, you are used to working independently and have a good ability to organize and prioritize your tasks, even under high tempo.
