JOB DESCRIPTION

The Environmental & Building Permit Unit is responsible for supervision, assessment, control, and advice according to the Environmental Code, Planning and Building Act, as well as food, alcohol, and tobacco legislation. Furthermore, we are also responsible for the continued sustainable development of Östra Göinge Municipality.

There are 8 people working in the environmental and building permit unit, and you will be part of a team together with an administrator, building permit architect, and building inspector. The position is an expansion of the unit with an additional colleague.

As a supervisory inspector, you will primarily perform supervision according to the Planning and Building Act and may support the processing of permits and notifications. In your role, you will work largely independently, and decision-making often occurs by delegation.

The role is outward-facing and involves many contacts with companies, the public, builders, consultants, and other authorities.

You will also be involved in the unit's development area and work preventively with advice and collaborative assignments both externally and internally.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a university degree in a relevant field, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. Several years of experience in public authority work within the construction sector with good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act is advantageous. You have a good ability to read, interpret, and explain legal texts and rulings, as well as apply current legislation.

Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. The person we are looking for is pedagogical, service-oriented, and enjoys communicating with others while having a strong integrity.

It is important that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language and express yourself well in both speech and writing, as well as have a good ability to work and plan both independently and in a team.

Good computer skills are required.

A Class B driver's license is required as the position involves travel.
